A happy heart makes the face cheerful

30 Day Challenge

Day Two:
"A happy heart makes the face cheerful." Proverbs 15:13 (NIV)
We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.
-George Bernard Shaw
Did you start off slow and gain momentum?

As a husband and wife live together on a daily basis, taking care of the house, the cat, the bills, and
everything else that goes into daily life, we tend to forget to have fun together – to play.

Tonight, the attempt will be to just have fun. Laid back, no arguments.

LAST NIGHT's REVIEW

Last night I had one interview to do, by the time I had finished it seemed like the day had already gotten away from me. My wife felt sick, and was ready to go to bed just before nine. Instead of asking her to stay awake like I have in the past, I decided to just let her go.

She ended up changing her mind, possibly prompting a change in strategy on my part. We got through 45 minutes of Forrest Gump before her eyelids got too heavy.

Sure, last night was another night where I finished eating dinner alone. I struggled to fall asleep, as I struggled with my melancholic thoughts. Yet, those 40-45 minutes made a difference.

Today, I feel the fatigue of another night of poor sleep, but somehow better than I've felt in a few weeks.
