Sports Talk Show Host to Head "Neo Democratic Party" in Kentucky

Matt Jones, hosts of one of the most listened to sports shows in the country, Kentucky Sports Radio and former State Auditor Adam Edelen have teamed up to bring a new democratic party to the state of Kentucky. Their mission is to bring new ideas that are not just the same "good-ole boy" rhetoric that the democratic party has delivered throughout the last several years.

Jones confirmed it on his Facebook account earlier this week, but said this will be a part of a long-term process. Along side several other members they are currently seeking out new leaders all over the state who are outside the current party establishment.

Republicans dominated in the last two major elections that took place in the state. Despite many being outspoken about their approval of Mitch McConnell, the Senate Majority Leader, defeated Alison Lundergan Grimes in the most expensive Senate race in history, and it wasn't even close. The 73-year-old McConnell has held his spot as a Senator since 1985. The 35-year-old Lundergan Grimes was suppose to breathe life into a democratic party that has seen it's state turn an even darker shade of red since Obama was elected in 2008.

In the Governor race, heavy favorite, Jack Conway was defeated by Matt Bevin. Bevin immediately made his presence felt by attempting to remove kynect.com, in spite of the fact the bluegrass state has been the most successful at offering affordable healthcare at a non-federal level. Ky Connect currently provides 81,000 Kentuckians with health care.

Now, Jones, who hosted one of the Governor debates on his sports talk show, is hoping he can use his voice to make a difference beyond providing Kentucky Wildcat fans entertainment from 10AM-12PM on weekdays.

Since word of this has now leaked out apparently, I can confirm. This is a long-term project of mine that I am very...
